Free leather patterns, with the leather weight and size written down

Every pattern here is free. For each one we opened the designer's page and wrote down what it actually says: the leather weight it was made for, the finished size, which files you get, whether there is a build video, and whether the download is a plain link or sits behind a $0 checkout. All 185 were checked on 2026-10-14.

The questions that decide whether a pattern is any use

Which ones download without a checkout?

170 of 185. They link straight to a PDF. The other 15 are listed as $0.00 products in the designer's shop: you add one to the cart, go through checkout, and the link arrives by email. That is not a trick — an email address is often the only thing a designer gets back for a free pattern — but it is worth knowing before you start rather than halfway through.

What leather weight do I need?

Only 87 of the 185 say. Where they do, the weight is in the table exactly as the designer wrote it — across these patterns the stated weights run from 1.2 oz to 10 oz. Leather weight matters more than in most crafts: card slots cut for 2–3 oz leather will not close in 5 oz, and a fold drafted for thin leather cracks in thick. Where the designer does not say, we write Not stated rather than guess from the photos.

Which ones come with laser files?

3 include an SVG or DXF file alongside the printable PDF, which is what you want if you cut on a laser or a Cricut-style machine:

• Leather Bifold Wallet (PDF + SVG) — projects.makesupply.co, SVG · PDF
• Laser Cut Card Wallet — projects.makesupply.co, SVG · PDF
• Leather Archery Quiver — vasileandpavel.com, PDF · DXF

Which ones have a build video?

96 of 185. We only count a video that shows this pattern being made — a channel link or a video for a different project does not count. Use the Has build video filter above.
